The Xunta de Galicia publishes the Yearbook of Forest Statistics for the year 2019. It is a detailed x-ray, over 120 pages, of the Galician forestry sector edited by the General Directorate of Forest Planning and Management of the Department of Rural Affairs.
This publication is a fundamental tool to support decision-making in matters of management, development and promotion of the Galician forest, both by the Forest Administration and by the sector itself, which systematically develops and updates its main indicators.
In this way, the 2018 Yearbook is updated, incorporating at the same time a set of new information, among which the possibility of establishing comparative series between the 2018 and 2019 data in multiple tables stands out. Thus, it is not appropriate for the wooden uses to include, for example, disaggregated data on the second volume or state of the wood (burnt, dry or green) for the two years.
On the other hand, the statistics relate in detail the figures of the termination of agreements and consortiums throughout the year 2019. It also incorporates updated data and historical series of communications of express adherence to references of good practices and forestry models or of Forest management guidelines, applicable to forests or forest plots with a surface area of less than or equal to more than 15 hectares in round land for the same property.
At the same time, the publication presents the first data, corresponding to 2018, on the number of Galician agents (type 1 and 2) and declared volumes (tons) in terms of legality in the commercialization of wood and wood products (EUTR Regulation). In addition, the yearbook also relates areas of forest use and ratios of means of two felling records.
