With the implementation of this work program, the diversity and competitiveness of the Cluster is promoted through specialization and technological and organizational improvement of the SMEs that integrate it, contributing to strengthening all the links of the value chain. Although in recent years companies in the sector have already been making investments in the different areas of Industry 4.0, these are continuous improvement processes and, therefore, there is still a long way to go.

On the other hand, actions will be developed that continue to value the use of wood in construction, and collaborations between prescribers and the industry to promote the correct use of wood in the construction process. These actions try to ensure the correct constructive design, collection, installation and maintenance of the wooden elements.

Among the particular objectives pursued are to improve the competitiveness of the Galician industry by reducing process costs through the development and acquisition of highly productive tools. Reduce the repercussion of machinery depreciation through flexible organization systems that promote the high occupation of productive resources. Increase the quality of production and process control through the implementation of automation and sensors, and finally, promote the development of products with greater added value.

To this end, the Cluster coordinates the management of innovation and investment projects in the field of industry 4.0 and operational excellence, together with other specialized agents. Thus, as a promoter partner of the Digital Innovation Hub (Datalife), acting as a lever to promote the digital transformation of the production and commercial processes of our associated companies.

On the other hand, we contribute to disseminate and promote a culture of continuous improvement through the dissemination of information and awareness among associated companies. Collaboration between different companies enhances R+D+i processes, improves global knowledge of the sector and allows the Cluster companies to be positioned as major drivers of innovation in the forestry-wood sector.
